I suppose each opposing character gets spirit -1 and attack -1 is a more accurate translation.

Then where did all of the confusion and hubub come from to give it's original bad translation a paragraph of text?
The french card says Sp-1 Atk-1 per each other character.

It's either a bug, or I was excited about this trophy for nothing, Zurga has also said it's supposed to be Sp-2 Atk-2.

The French card says:
'chaque personnage adverse a Attaque -1 et Esprit -1 par autre personnage adverse'

As far as I understand French it says literally:
Every opposite character has Attack -1 and Spirit -1 for other opposite character'

So, if it isn't supposed to be for EACH other opposite character, the whole 'par autre personnage adverse' is completely obsolete. It could just read:
'chaque personnage adverse a Attaque -1 et Esprit -1'
Or in English: 'Every opposite character has Attack -1 and Spirit -1'
