Story Time
The smoke escaped from many buildings and rose in rolling columns skyward which were already naturally purple. The Empress had certainly not seen the tide turn against her, sure of herself and her strength, she had underestimated the resistance and its allies. While hers army regrouped, the resistance, reinforced by many Equinoxiens eager to end the current regime and had ordered its troops to storm the capital. But there was more, a few days before the attack was chosen to launch this major moment, an event occurred to bring reinforcements to the resistance. These new allies were around three hundred and came from the Land of Guem after crossing the Door of Infinity known as the Door of the Gods. These men and women had traveled to remote areas of the Equinox, facing many dangers and encountering hostility from the inhabitants of the place then came the meeting with members of the Resistance, far, far away from the Empress and her plan of conquest. Slowly, the trust was established between the two forces and on the way the Legion agreed to help the Equinoxiens rebels. It was only recently that the Runic Legion had joined the troops of Krinistas, the Dragon Knights, and the Sapheart Elfines. A plan was decided - that of taking out the Empress forces by attacking the source, taking the capital and putting an end to centuries of gender inequality, to terminate the matriarchy. With some Equinoxiens rallied to the cause of the resistance, the alert wasn’t given until later. The Resistance troops and their allies already blocked the monumental gates of the wall. The Runic Legion had been divided into three regiments. At the center, led troops with , while on the right side, sensible support against charging Equinoxiens was led by . Behind them task was to protect the priests who would appeal to the gods during the battle. The side of the resistance, General Krinistas guided his to the other two entries, at any time, could pour streams of Imperial fighters, who were not slow to show just the tip of their armor. The battle began and this is the fate of those once banished from the Lands of Guem who were playing people. The runes of the weapons and armor shone like never before on the legionnaires, their techniques of war were to end unequaled to the defense Equinoxiens. The front door was taken so quickly and with more minotaurs’ rage destroyed the double doors so that no one could close the door. The resisters, who wanted above all to preserve the population, were securing the streets and warning them if Equinoxien troops approached. It was a real urban battle and blood quickly came running down the pavement carved to perfection. The fire spread quickly and people were caught in a vice one side by flames and troops of the Empress, the other side by the resistance and the Legion. The dead were unavoidable but that was not the purpose of this attack. The goal was to reach and kill the Empress, but it had to happen in the palace, and as soon as possible. This was the mission of Elfines and Dragon Knights, whose combination of talents proved formidable. Led by a scout of the Resistance, the group crept through the streets sometimes smoky from the fires sometimes not. Slowly but surely the scout approached the palace which like in the past it was easy to get to. In the vast palace there was a disorderly crowd, Equinoxiens ran in all directions, shouting and relaying orders from above. Legates, Mistress Counsellors, and supervisors tried to gather as much information about the situation as they could; it was unprecedented, even when once with the Stoneeaters, which the Equinoxiens had faced at the front of the city. That day the powers of the Equinox had won. But for now this was not the case. In the throne room of the Empress exchanged ideas with the Mistress Counsellor Jel Darim, the latter being in charge of the army. “The central door is no longer there. It is now a huge hole in the wall, we cannot close the doors of the city, it is too late,” reported Jel-Darim to the stern face of the Empress, she swallowed and continued. “Our troops are placed in an arc from the west wall to the front of the palace to the east wall.” She said, pointing to a map of the city. “The s are they deployed?” Asked the Empress who read the reports of her supervisors. “Yes, Your Highness.” “Well... drop them...” the Empress said gravely. “But they are still at the experimental stage, they can destroy this city.” “I do not care about this city! LET GO OF THEM! If they trample our enemies make sure that their claws cut into our enemies flesh and that our enemies jaw bones are broken! “Of course, your Highness, I will relay your order to the Metamages in the field,” said Jel-Darim taking leave. Now alone, the Empress slowly circled her throne behind which was a hidden corridor that was behind a thick curtain. After a few meters before she found a large spiral staircase which she slowly descended. The staircase sank deep into the bowels of the palace and after a room, at least as large as that of the throne. The atmosphere was charged with magic of the Equinox. There was no furniture here, and apart from the Empress there was an imposing mass, a huge creature with a long neck, with huge wings, blue scaly skin, and almost entirely covered with writing Equinoxien. The Empress stood next to the head of the beast whose eyes were as big as her. She stroked the brow muttering. “What do you want yet, witch?” Said a voice that echoed against the walls of the room. “Dragon... my dear Dragon... I just want to simply say thank you, today is a great day, I will crush once and for all these resistance cockroaches and all thanks to you. Our babies are ready to go on the attack once they have destroyed the alliance resistance and the invaders from your home, I will be free to open the doors of the Infinity again thanks to you. I'll let you guess the rest.” “You're abhorrent, I will stop you.” “Destroy it, what are you waiting for?” Whispered a voice in the head of Dragon. “You're not even able to lift a claw my dear, so how would you stop anyone. I will tell you soon Dragon, the future belongs to us!” Outside, the battle that was in favor of the Resistance and the Legion would take another course... more fatal to those who dared to face the Empress.
Will Dragon listen to his inner voice that I swore he got rid of a long time ago and somehow oppose the Empress? Will the Dragon Knights and the Elfines manage to make it into the palace unnoticed. And finally will Ydiane have a relapse and start killing her friends again? Find out next time in: Me, Dragon.
