My name is Sima Qian, today, as the eternal night will soon cover my eyes it's time to write the final chapter in the chronicle of the Kotoba. I finish by a character with whom I had a lot of fun to discuss topics and others, despite his fall. Here is the chapter dedicated to Asajiro. My memory is not what it once was, playing tricks on me that I could do without. If recent events are much more clear to me the oldest are more vague and I apologize to those who read these lines of these inaccuracies.
Our first meeting date there is a little more than twenty years when I was teaching in the prestigious Imperial school. It was a very shy boy, but admirable about his intelligence and his ability to master the arts of war. I was fascinated by this kid who grows up quickly. I was proud to see directly received as an imperial officer at an age which few can boast. Then I must admit, lost. As Imperial officer he served in various garrisons and participated in many battles. The exemplary he showed then earned him the ear of the Lord Imperial Gakyusha, who was impressed by the states of Asajiro service. So naturally he was named in the prestigious Kotoba.
And I found a few years later, in the turmoil of war stone fell from the sky. During one of the battles, though lost, Asajiro had shown in saving the life of the Lord Imperial Gakyusha. I also had the chance to learn from the mouth of the Lord Imperial this heroic action, I admit, did not surprise me coming from him. The Emperor himself saluted his courage and unfailing devotion to serve the Empire and Kotoba. His name was even the subject of often incredible and unbelievable stories that told in the towns and villages of the region. It was a time of glory that will bode the storm would blow years later on the reputation of the Imperial officer.
This story is sadly familiar to all, Asajiro man without fault was not so perfect. The flaw in his armor was none other than Yu Ling, an incredibly beautiful woman, for whom he secretly felt a boundless love. When the beautiful Kuraying decided to marry a Zil Warrior Xziarite of origin, something broke in Asajiro. The bruised heart, he scaffolding a plan to eliminate the groom. Fortunately the plan was foiled by the Noz'Dingard who discovered in time shenanigans and the act turned into a murder attempt, the worst was avoided. After some time in a jail of Noz'Dingard his fate was left to the discretion of the Kotoba and therefore the Lord Imperial Gakyusha. I was present at the trial, I was asked to record everything it seems. I would not take the trouble to transcribe everything in these pages, you referring to the imperial chronicles Meragi if you want to know more. The fact is that the exchanges were cordial and explanations. Asajiro deeply regretted his actions and his service is perfect the Imperial Lord could not bring himself to exclude the Kotoba, against a punishment by his title of Imperial officer was taken from him, he could not regain title and remain a soldier like any other. Also, although still a member of the Kotoba it could no longer be taken by the group missions as it did not prove that we could have absolute confidence in him. This sentence was perceived as fair and equitable even though in reality it was not the Lord Imperial Gakyusha was very indulgent, anyone else would have been excluded from the Kotoba.
The officer then became Imperial Asajiro Asajiro rover. He laid before Gakyusha spear and armor officer and left Meragi never to return. Not that he did not wish of course, but simply because the city was destroyed without his having had the time to iron it. For years he ran the imperial provinces, stopped numerous bands of robbers, destroyed the terrible Phao which held prisoner Princess Zan-Zan and learned from the great masters. Despite all this, nothing allowed his comeback. At least until Meragi be destroyed by hordes of traitors and Amidaraxar Zejabel. I know all this because I lived it, at least from afar ...
I was with him in a tavern deviser of his latest adventures when word reached us. The Imperial capital would attack made by Nehantist and nothing would be nothing. But the Emperor and the people of the city are not far away from where we were. It did not took more Asajiro to go to learn about the truth of the facts, and especially how to make it useful. Intrigued by what could be the wanderer, I followed him to the outskirts of the village of Yaminzu where he asked me to cover because something was wrong. And because there was no one alive, but dead. But how was it possible? The answer came when the dead began to move and recover. They were so numerous and so frightening that I ran away to hide. You know there is nothing shameful about it, I've never been a warrior unlike Asajiro. The battle began quickly, I actually feared for his life and mine. Memory I never saw a man fighting with as much skill and precision. Other undead mingled with the poor villagers Yaminzu to form an army, so qu'Asajiro was surrounded by enemies. Mattered little to him the number of opponents because he knew ancestral techniques, which he had paid learning the loss of an eye. I carefully remembers the moment I saw it shine in the sky dozens and dozens of bright objects, katanas and other blades of this style. They fell as a shower of sharp metal on our enemies. Asajiro knew the technique thousand blades developed by Xzia in person and secretly transmitted from. Following this dazzling work my stash was uncovered by these creatures and ... I fainted with fear.
In the end the battle was won thanks to Vagabond who saved me from certain death. Without his intervention the Emperor would probably more than undead among others. What happened to him then? I do not know, I think in the end its status as a vagabond suits him and so he is free to travel the world and serve the Empire.
