So I came up with a new Zil Mage that is themed around the shadow of a Spider.

The shadow spider could be similar to the one around the mage on the left side of this image:

The character itself could be white or red haired, with goth look.

Leiradna is reverse of Andariel (Final Boss of Diablo II Act I).

She would be added to 's effect.

Note #1: Leiradna Lv1 + Shadow Web = Leiradna Lv2.
Leiradna Lv2 + Shadow Web = Leiradna Lv3.


Note #2: She has 1 Spirit, whereas Kuraying, Alyce and Abyssien the Devourer have 3.
Note #3: She has 1 Defense.

New Spells:

Note #1: If played by Leiradna, it gives Defense +3, but it neither reduces your characters' Defense nor the opposing characters' Spirit at the start of each Turn, since -1 +1 = 0.

So play with Leiradna if you want Defense.
Play with the other characters if you want to reduce the opposing characters' Spirit.


Note #2: The effects stack until the 3rd (final) Turn of the card is up.

When played by characters other than Leiradna = Defense +2 to your characters.
Next Turn = Defense +1 to your characters and Spirit -1 to the opposing characters.
Final Turn = Defense +0 to your characters and Spirit -2 to the opposing characters.


When played by Leiradna = Defense +3.
No changes on the next and final Turns.

For the Falling Shadow card wouldnt be better if the eff was like this.


As this card activates your Shadow Guemelites heal X health points where X equals the number of Shadow Spells in play.
At the end of the fight, each opposing character suffers X magic damage where X equals your spirit + 1 for each Shadow Spell in play (Max 5)
Duration 2 Fights.

This way it damage the opposing characters for 2 fight instead of 1 and its like Wild Buds so you can do a Physical Atk too.
For leiradna i dont understand why her spirit is 1 2 would be a good balance with her -1 spirit eff. And for her evolutions if you want to use Shadow Web for her use 2 for her final evolution instead of 1 for each lvl. For her eff it could be like this.

+ 1 for Shadow Spell Damage(non AoE)
The opposing Charaters have 1 Spirit.
Your Shadow Guemelites cannot cast and fire or lightning spells untill the end of the game.
At the start of the game a Shadow Web from you deck is placed on one of your Shadow Guemelites at random.
Turns 2,4 and 5: Choose a Shadow Spell in your discard pile,its is played.

Well, the idea is precicely to heal when you play it, and deal damage at the start of the next turn.

So it heals once, and deals damage once.

As for your suggestion for damage dealing, it would really feel like a wild buds clone, wich is why I don't really like the idea.

I would like it to depend 100% on shadow spells in play, thus being counterable by permanent removal.
If it scales with Spirit you can ignore permanents completely, wich can lead to it becoming overpowered or gimmicky (depending on whether the damage cap ends up being too high or too low).

then do the character who played Falling Shadow have to be in play next turn too for it to do damage?

no, it ays at the beginning of the turn, not combat. Which means it will activate the next turn even if he is not in combagt

Yup.
But if the character dies the turn the card is played, the card goes to the discard pile without dealing damage next turn.
