Still see no defense, low items, and Althing did not come with the Ice Deck. No idea on Last Hope as it will not load for me, but that probably also didn't come with the deck.

So no the free ice deck will not help you.

EDIT: Okay maybe this is a balancing thing but why does not have chain? The other 3 items have it for their classes and give a bonus to Lucyan. So why not the hood?

The free deck had 2 Frostbite, 2 Northern lights and 1 Amethyst Blizzard (the last two are not too effective against the mages you need to kill). Althing was a not trivial to get event card, Last Hope is an act 3 trophy card which is not easy to get if your best cards are an ice elf deck and needs to be bought if you ahven't been around back then. And Hrimnirs items were event rewards too, that were hard to get on a budget.
Your "ice elves should be fine" ice elves have barely any resemblance to the free ice elf deck.

That's like saying "The Noz Starter should get you the mage trophies, if you replace the chars with Archmage Anryena, Prophet and Tanaer and add 3 Water Waves, 3 RoD, 3 Disintegration and 3 Lightning Bolts 3. Easy".

Right now those cards alone are 116000 cx. Far from "free ice elf deck". Also given the amount of cheese running around in class room and the amount of leavers and time outers....yeah...still taking ages.

A good Ice Elf deck also normally has a bunch of key old trophies, event cards, and as you just listed expensive cards. And I still don't see a good way to get your defense up. Not that it matters, it's luck based if you get the win for anyway f2p deck.

But the set up goes; Spell - Hood. So you don't get the bonus of the hood for that spell, you get it for every other spell you play IF you get to that point. AoE and out of combat damage are still pains to deal with in this game. Again this is just confusing.

The only mage items that go Item>Spell are Academic Lesson and Eredan's wisdom, everything else needs to be chained into. Anything that plays cards with it's order/other cards after the initial 2 will get the most use from the hood.

116k is relatively cheap. Most workable decks need between 2 and 300k just to be half decent.
