no, but if you want the reward, you can get it just beating inferno, try until he drop it

sometimes when there is a bug affecting all of us, when they fix it, they usually refund some spare energy that they decide is the average energy lost because of the bug. You can also use that energy for the same purpose, but you have to beat every quest 1-off or you will spend that extra energy in vain.
