Okay now what items do dragon knights use that they would want to discard?

Well, for starters any Dragon Knight items you want to pick up , if you have , and items that were discarded by , and any filler cards that you added to your deck just for the purpose of discarding it. Now since I think about it that was a rhetorical question, right? Unless, said person really has no idea how a IHAS deck worked.

i hope we will see an item for dk that works similar to
but would actually add a cad to the discard pile

IHAS deck works because they get a huge benefit from +10 At and DF and the added bonus of having items that give bonus or deal damage when discarded. Also Draconium is still just bad.
Also In the Name of the Dragon only plays Dragon Knight cards or Draconic spells. The only DK items it can bring back are Chimera, Azure and Draconian Sword all of which are not cards you want to have discarded.

Pretty sure, you are forgetting Draconic Banner and also pretty sure most people try to discard Chimera asap, since it has a tendency of making Dragon Knights unkillable so Chimera ending up in the discard pile is kind of unevitable. I can also think of a few other Dragon Knight items that are usually discarded by opposing players as soon as they come into play, so maybe consider it a freeze counter if nothing else.
