PLEASE READ: Room alteration request:BALANCE
Now that we have adventure mode, training rooms are almost empty all of the time.
This game has recently developed a working/changing Ban list for tournaments.
My suggestion/request, is that we change the PvP rooms so that there is a room for both tournament legal and unlimited basic, standard, and global restrictions
I'm personally tired of running into bosses and banned cards while playing a tourney legal deck.
In other card games, when players play person to person, if the game has a ban list, they discuss what format the game will be played, limited or unlimited, in Eredan, you'll probably run into Runics, Sap Strikers, And lightning pirates until you just don't want to play.
It makes the game easier to play for players that want to play tournament legal, but aren't good enough to participate in the tournament.
It makes it easier to pair off Decks containing (obviously) overpowered cards, and after a certain level, makes all the difference when playing against players of any level.
If this is implemented it will damper the balance issue.
Please Bump if you can!
Any questions or comments appreciated.
Edit:
Just randomed 3 different people with boss Kleenex :/

Explaining the concept:
The normal screen is Adventure on the left, PVP to the upper right, and Tournaments. This would not change. Where it would say Training room/PVP, it would have "Limited"(Tourney bans), and "Global" which is the current setting of the only pvp room at the moment. This way casual players can still experience the game, while experienced -coughdisposableincomehere- have a room all to themselves for their overpowered cards. If there are cards that are unfair enough to ban in tournaments, why are they allowed in the rooms where people aren't/can't play competitively? It's bad for casual players, I'm no f2p either -__-
Things to consider when creating/balancing cards:
Characters:
-Do the stats of the characters have great enough penalties for their effects?
-Do the effects of the character override regular game mechanics? If so, what can negate/stop their effect?(Newer legendaries tend to have unstoppable effects)
Cards:
-What cards can be used before it?
-Does it chain?
--If so, do it's affects alter the cards/characters?
--If so, How many cards/characters can it affect?
---What can stop it?
How the game works now is, one thing is overpowered, then something is released that dwarfs prior, even recent, cards.
One type of deck has many counters for other decks, but can only be countered by very few.
Characters have stats and health that are imbalanced (such as runics, most have base 2 spr, 7+ base attack, 3+ Defense and 14+Hp, The ones that have lower defense tend to have higher HP, but since their effects break the game, that doesn't matter. The only reason it's fair for dandy to have an unstoppable "The opposing character can't chain cards" is because he can't boost his attack. The only reason it's fair in Crowtoba and World tree is because the effect is caused by permanents. One of the Runic's has it as a 1 and 2 order :/)
Only certain guilds have decks that can do this.

This, in my opinion, sums up your post.
I completely agree.
It is the reason I quit against players that use Legendaries in Leveling Rooms.
To me, using Legendary cards in Leveling Room is despicable.
Using EX Legendaries is even worse...
But it's not their fault - Feerik makes OP cards then bans them in Tournaments, and let players in Leveling Rooms be slaughtered.
Way to go...
Creating different rooms won't solve it.
Feerik must make frequent, light changes to cards to make them all useful, fun, but balanced.

Re: PLEASE READ: Room alteration request:BALANCE
My suggestion would only make the current state of the game bearable.
If they implement an balance for the pool of -broken- cards, it isn't very likely they'd do it all at once.
I get that decks are fun to play with, I get that it's fun to win, but everyone that runs around with cookie-cutter ban decks isn't really playing the game.
Runics need to be fixed. It's like fighting Sap strikers, except instead of double/triple attacks, their attack scores can be in the upper teens as they start their first fight...
I don't mind foamie, Ish, Doyen, Yilith, or Sevylath. It's the guild specific legendaries that are broken.
Edit:Sevylath with Avalonians can be slghtly OP if you can't out dps them.

Yes, there are a few exceptions.
Legendary Iro doesn't feel overwhelming either.
But Legendary cards in general, including stuff like Prestige, is game breaking for 90% of the decks that go there.

Losing teaches you how to be a better player sometimes. So long as the character set isn't broken, the legendary playables (with the exception of Mastery/Machiavellism) are as fair as the strategy of the opposing player's deck.
I've been Prestige'd in quite a few games, I can say it's never been the reason I've lost.
ANS can be countered with anathematize/shifting sand/Forbidden nehantic books etc etc etc
If Prestige breaks your deck, you're relying too much on one card.
The Council's banner isn't broken, and works in very few(mainly AoE heavy) decks.
The Hungry Void is only unfair when used by Nehantists, Nomads, and any other deck that has unconditional damage reduction or healing.
-unspellable from memory-'s Vision has a fair cost, can be situational, and is only truly useful in decks that are catered to it.
Machiavellism is kind of bad though, it's Steam Chest+Premonition+ The Council's banner.
Mastery is spam. This is the first card game I've ever played where Doublespell has no cost whatsoever.
Sensoriality(Which should be Sensuality) is an effect that a few character's have already built into them.
Overall, they're not harmless, but they're not broken, there are a few trophy cards that outrank legendary cards imo.

Re: PLEASE READ: Room alteration request:BALANCE
I also believe that changing the existing, unbalanced cards, would solve the issue mostly and then those cards could be used in tournaments as well.
Of course that would annoy those people who spent a whole load of crystals for a card just for seeing it getting nerfed. But I think the advantage of being able to use that card in a tournament again would compensate more than enough for that.
For example you could change to be removed from the game after use instead of going to the discard pile, etc.

Though the past the unwanted memories
Are holding onto you,
All the power in the universe
Conspires to carry you.
Truth you find through your adversities.
Will defend you.
As your powers and all your energies
Conspire to carry you.

Re: PLEASE READ: Room alteration request:BALANCE
The Althing will never be fair, nor should ever be tourney legal.
Finally got a setup to have all immortals dead by the end of the turn in a long Grueling battle? Got the last one to a negative hole so deep there's no healing that can save them? Althing, you lose, too bad.
Even If it was removed from the game after being played, reset your stats and discarded your permanents beforehand, it still wouldn't be fair, because Health=1 after everything resolves.
Revive is why Admiral Al Kilcrew is broken.
The current most annoying thing, that, for the very concept of it, won't be rebalanced, are the boss Characters.
Knowing Feerik, there won't be an overbalance, and even if there is, it is almost GUARANTEED that there will be plenty of broken cards to come.
Change the level rooms.
Start an unlimited(No bans) tournament on top of what's currently being hosted.
Let everyone who dumped money and time into gamebreaking strategies that were a)obvious, or b)Made by someone else have their own little place in the game rooms so they can't pad their W/L.
A room full of Orenous,Admiral, Centurion, Bosses, and lightning Pirates, with no one else to play but each other.
Lets see how fun those broken cards are when you can't do anything but play against them.
I'm pretty sure that if they made an unlimited tourney, the room would be emptier than Amnezy, because no one wants to fight broken cards, but most have no problems using them against people who aren't using them.

These two are the parts of this thread, that in my opinion sum everything that's wrong with the available rooms and card balance philosophy:
Sollution: Feerik, gain some senses and continuously adjust all the cards in the game.
If you want, hire me.
I'll take care of all english mispelling, and balance at least 50 cards per day without breaking a sweat, and even give you a full report before the changes go live.

What do you mean?
Perhaps despicable is the wrong word.
And not all "legendaries" are truly bad.
As I said before, Iro doesn't feel "unfair".
Neither does Yilith, or Foam Giant.
Council's Banner seems fair too.
But cards like Mastery, Prestige, Ourenos, Nebsen and Pilkim are some of the biggest reasons fairplay in Eredan is abysmal.
My logic is simple:
If cards are banned, because they're overpowered, why can they be used at all?
Why can players abuse overpowered cards against the players that will rather play by the "rules"?
Give people cheats or god mode, and they'll use it. Over and over again.
Is it the players' fault? No. It's Feerik's fault.
