You mean the class and play style feerik has openly admitted to abandoning? With the only new Ice elf in quite some time being completely unrelated?
Yes, yes, that will work.
Okay, off topic but; Wait, WHAT?!? They openly admitted to killing off berserkers?!?!
well if you were playing during the event that gave out Althing and that Ice elf king guy. If you read the dialogues in-between the missions, The campaign is about the Ice elf king guy asking for help to find some Ice elves (the x-mas berserkers and the priest lady). After finishing the last mission, you get a dialogue where the Ice elf king guy tells the berserkers that the threat of the melting glacier is over and it is time for them to return home and don't come back again. So I guess they'd stopped making new berserkers.
Q&A thread adressed it. Since there are so many types and playstyles in game, feerik is no longer focusing on anything that has gone a year or so without a real update. Instead they're focusing on consolidating current deck types/archtypes by having theme based multi guild releases.
@Nurvus
Most of the current light spells are witchblade only, the light spell "theme"(Preventative and defensive aside Lux Draconis) would be useful for other decks, given the deck isn't running a pure type of gameplay (ex:Full noz blast doesn't run any non-damaging counter cards). Remember, releases and types are based on their relevance to a predefined story.
Zil mages: Doesn't fit their theme in any way
Sap mages: ^
Pirate mages: Lightning+light, if light spells are 1) A better alternative to non-staple lightning pirate cards, 2) If pirates get a light guemelite
Nomads:No mages
Runic Legion: No mages, no update for an entire act
Noz mages: Witchblades wield most of the light spells
Kotoba: Shadow guemelites and war guemelites, Demon Hunters used shadow and fire spells: see Zil
Nehantists: Bad guys of the game, All the nehantic spells save 1 and trophies.
Am I missing something?
The only way a light guemelite could gain any of the benefits of current light spells is by being a witchblade, or being able to play light spells without restrictions, the latter of which, they'd still have to be paired with witchblades, or be the only character in the deck able to play the cards. That, or they'd have to release 3 light guems, or <5 light spells that could fit in other, non-sloppy mage decks.
New unaffiliated light spells would have to be really good, or have to go to witchblades unless multiple light guemelites with no light spell restrictions are released, otherwise they'll be more useless cards in a release that disappoints everyone except witchblade fans.
